Save the date for the Destination Wedding Photography Workshop in Goa, India on August 24-26, 2012. The workshop will be conducted by Sephi Bergerson and myself and it will focus on the growing segment of destination weddings.
It will be a good blend of lectures, discussions, and assignments in which participants will learn to tackle the challenges of being or becoming a destination wedding photographer, for all that it means. We will discuss marketing, branding, travel arrangements, airport tips, health issues, foreign work permits, pricing, contracts, business approach and much more…

After covering an ‘intense’ 4-days indian wedding on the coast of Kenya, Renaud (the filmmaker) and I decided to make our way back to Nairobi from Mombasa by the overnight train. Obviously not the quickest way to travel the 530 kms between the two cities since it took us about 17 hrs to reach Nairobi (4hrs delay because of elephants) but what an experience!! First-class dining and crossing the Tsavo National Park and the kenyan highlands at slow pace. Highly recommended!!! (one way only…. :)
To follow my yesterday post about creative commercial photography in Brazil, here is an exemple. LG is advertising a new surround sound home theater system. Their agency Y&R Sao Paulo had the brillant idea of showing iconic posters of famous movies from behind. Shot by Lúcio Cunha, this is really clever!!!

Part #2 to follow….

Just wanted to share this straight out of the camera photo-trailer of a recent wedding I covered in Nairobi. As a wedding photographer in Kenya, I get to experience many different cultures such as Sikh and Hindu weddings and all kind of Christian weddings.
This shot was taken just after the ceremony when the priest was greeting the bride. Just love the look in his eyes and the super inviting smile.

I am very pleased to have ranked that photo of a previous wedding in Oman in the 2011 WPJA final quarter contest. I don’t always have time to hang out with the boys when they get ready so I am glad they are getting a little more attention this time!!
